Federal BOP Releases and Glascock
A federal prison release is not a Glascock County jail release. A local record can show that a person was released to a federal hold or the U.S. Marshals Service. In that event, county custody ended while detention continued under another authority. The destination field is more informative than the word “released” alone.
BOP is the prison agency for people who enter federal correctional records. Its Inmate Locator covers federal inmates incarcerated from 1982 to the present. Results can identify the inmate, show a location when one is listed, and report a release date. The date may be a future projection or a completed federal custody event.
Search the BOP Inmate Locator
The official locator accepts number-based and name-based searches. A known federal identifier provides the strongest route. Names can be shared, shortened, or entered in different forms, so compare all available fields before choosing a record.
- Open the BOP Inmate Locator.
- Search by BOP register number, DCDC number, FBI number, or INS number when known.
- Otherwise enter the first, middle, and last name.
- Use age, race, and sex to narrow the results.
- Read the matching name, register number, release date, and location.
- Decide whether the date is future, past, or UNKNOWN.
- Use BOP records and the federal court record when the public result needs confirmation.
The search is designed for federal correctional records. It should not be expected to return an ordinary Glascock arrest that never became BOP custody.
What the BOP Result Shows
Locator fields answer federal identity and custody questions. They do not reproduce the full judgment or explain every sentence calculation.
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name | The inmate name associated with the BOP record. |
| Register number | The federal identifier for matching and follow-up. |
| Age, race, and sex | Details that separate people with similar names. |
| Release date | A future projection or past BOP release, depending on the date. |
| Location | The BOP facility or location status displayed for the record. |
| UNKNOWN | The confinement term is not determined, including pretrial or civil-commitment contexts. |
Match the register number and personal fields before interpreting the release date. Use the judgment and BOP records for the sentence behind the result.
Past BOP Date and No Facility
BOP provides a direct interpretation for a past date paired with no facility location. It says release occurred on that date and the person is no longer in BOP custody. This confirms the end of BOP's custody event.
“Not in BOP custody” remains a limited finding. The person may be on federal supervised release or parole. Another correctional, criminal-justice, or law-enforcement system may hold the person. A state warrant, local charge, or immigration matter can exist outside BOP's locator.
Future and UNKNOWN BOP Dates
A future release date is projected from BOP calculations. It is not proof that release already occurred. Credits, legal action, sentence changes, and updated computations can affect the value. Recheck near the expected date and obtain the agency record when exact status matters.
An UNKNOWN date does not mean release is near. BOP says the confinement term may not be determined, such as in pretrial status or civil commitment. A federal pretrial detainee may also be physically housed in a local or regional jail under federal authority and may not appear like a sentenced, designated BOP inmate.
BOP Records and Contact Routes
The relevant contacts are the official locator and BOP records explanation. No federal prison or detention center in Glascock County was found, so there is no local BOP address to publish.

View the Official BOP Locator
The official BOP Inmate Locator is the successful manifest source for a federal search.

The federal page supplies BOP identity, location, and release-date fields. It does not show a county jail or GDC status.
Glascock Release to Federal Custody
A Glascock arrest or holding-jail record may say federal hold, USMS hold, or transfer to federal custody. That means the local custodian ended its own hold or handed the person to another authority. It does not establish community release. Obtain the destination field and check the receiving federal record.
U.S. Marshals custody is harder to trace through a single public locator. Pretrial federal detainees may be housed in local or regional jails, and BOP may not display them until sentencing and designation. Check the holding jail, federal court docket, and Marshals district contact. Use BOP when the person enters BOP records.
Compare Federal Release Status
The same person can pass through several systems. Each result proves only the status reported by its own custodian.
| Result | Next check |
|---|---|
| Future BOP date | Treat it as projected and recheck the federal record. |
| Past date, no facility | BOP custody ended; check supervision and other systems separately. |
| UNKNOWN date | Check the federal case and present custody status. |
| County record says federal transfer | Follow the USMS, federal court, holding-jail, and BOP paths as applicable. |
| State-prison record | Use GDC rather than BOP. |
| Immigration transfer | Use ICE ODLS for immigration custody. |
Get a BOP Release Record
Save the name, register number, release date, and location wording. Identify the federal case and judgment. For a historical or detailed custody question, use BOP's records or FOIA channels and request the existing record for a defined date range.
If the inquiry began with a Glascock event, request the local arrest and transfer record separately. It can show when local custody ended and who received the person. The BOP result then addresses later federal custody. The Glascock County release guide maps the systems without treating them as one record.
About the Federal BOP System
This facility-map entry represents a nationwide federal correctional system, not a building in Glascock County. A local connection may arise through federal prosecution, a hold, a transfer, or a person returning to the county after federal release. No Glascock federal detention center was found in the reviewed sources.
The locator's 1982-to-present coverage is the sourced figure relevant to this page. It describes the public search period, not every possible archived federal record. Use BOP's records guide for scope and limitations.
